Explore the streets of Cobble Hill, take in the ocean smell in Red Hook, and the sweeping views of DUMBO. South Brooklyn doesn't always make it onto the map, let alone the itinerary. That's why we made a 24-hour guide to South Brooklyn and all it has to offer. Choose your own adventure - from coffee shop to lobster roll, key lime pies to live music.

Find recommendations and and maps in the South Brooklyn Field Guide - a free (and printable!) guide for your next adventure. And check out other adventures for your choosing with the FIELD GUIDE SERIES

Start near the Hoyt–Schermerhorn Subway stop. And make your way down to Cobble Hill.

Strolling and snacking: swing by Sahadi's Middle Easter Grocery Store for walking snacks. Walk down Court and Smith street to check out local store, eateries, coffee shops. Get some sweats at Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain in Cobble Hill. And stop by the Jalopy Theater for drinks and possibly music.

Walk down Van Brunt St. and head into Red Hook.

Here you’ll find a great bar Sunny's, the Good Fork for dinner, and Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pies for… pie. Take the ferry to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It's just a few dollars and has views of the city and the Statue of Liberty.  Check the schedule here.

At Brooklyn Bridge Park check out the pirate ship themed playground, Jane’s carousel, and take in the sweeping views of Manhattan. Grab a bottle at Blanc & Rouge and head over to The Binc for dinner.
